Baffin Island: An Arctic Kingdom
Why would anyone spend seven nights camping on the frozen, wind-sculpted, sea ice pushing the limits of cold-weather gear and mental and physical endurance? Because despite all the above, this is a wilderness that is unsurpassed anywhere. Icebergs thousands of years old, Aurora’s bursting out of the heavens in explosions of green and red moving in mesmerising patterns across the night sky, and bears. Polar bears, fresh out of the den.
Dust to Dawn
Lying in the shadow of Africa’s tallest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro, Amboseli is a paradoxical ecosystem. A dusty, desert wilderness with groundwater-fed wetlands - an oasis in a desert that is in sight of tropical forests.
No rain, but plenty of cats and dogs
It is an amazing feeling when you step off the plane arriving back somewhere you haven’t been for over a decade and immediately feel like you are where you belong. Before meeting your guide, before even stepping outside the airport terminal, there is something about the smell in the air, the temperature and the sense of being present in the moment.
